Original painting by the important Russian-American artist David Burliuk (1882-1967), often called the "Father of Russian Futurism, " a central member of the avant-garde movements in Russia. This is a classic Burliuk theme, depicting a rural, folkloric scene, likely a nostalgic vision of his native Ukraine. The painting is on cardboard (which he used on occasion) with what appears to be watercolor paints.
